Brazil's Centre-South hydrous ethanol sales fall 20% in April's 1st half
April 28 (SeeNews) - Brazil's hydrous ethanol sales in the Centre-South region for the first half of April decreased about 19.71% year-on-year, local sugarcane industry association Unica said on Wednesday.
Since the beginning of 2016 this is the fifth consecutive report of sales falling in annual terms. Still, the volume recovered when compared to March, Unica said.
The total volume of hydrous ethanol sold stood at 592.25 million litres (156.45 million gallons). Anhydrous ethanol producers, meanwhile, sold about 376.60 million litres in April 1-15.
Overall, sales of ethanol by local producers reached 1.01 billion litres. About 39.69 million litres were exported and 968.85 million litres were sold on the domestic market.
With regards to ethanol output in the period in question, about 1.29 billion litres were produced, of which 387.29 million litres were anhydrous and 891.29 million litres were hydrous.
